I am a licensed clinical social worker, counselor/therapist and received a master’s degree in
social work in 1998 from the University of New England in Maine. I have worked in both
community based and residential settings with clients ranging in ages from 5 to 95.
My practice embraces an integrative holistic approach bridging the connection of physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual health and the impact on overall health and wellbeing.
My style is informed from a wide range of practice modalities including humanistic therapy,
person-centered approaches; cognitive behavioral therapy; psychodynamic; and strengths
based/solution focused therapies.
Here are some of my learning takeaways from 20 years of counseling and therapy practice.
• It’s about relationship
• Be authentic
• Listen and hear
• Be empathic
• Be gentle
• Lean into fear and resistance, not away
• Challenge with care
• Instill hope
My goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore a greater understanding of yourself and
the issues and challenges you may be facing. To offer a trusting, counseling connection.
A relationship that supports you in gaining new tools and strategies, finding solutions and

Dave has helped me so much in getting back to feeling like my usual, happy self. At first I was worried I wouldn’t know what to talk about but he made it so easy to talk. I felt like he had a very good understanding of the stress I was feeling when I thought it would be difficult to explain. He taught me techniques of how to deal with the difficult situations I was facing and gave me lessons on how to get back to grounding myself again. I now feel as though I’m ‘back to normal’, I no longer feel completely out of my depth and feel so much more confident within myself. I looked forward to our weekly chats and felt as though I made a great friend in the process. I can’t thank him enough and would recommend talking to Dave to anyone!

If you're looking for a caring, passionate, kind, and experienced supporter as you navigate your internal world, then look no further because Dave is your guy.
I worked with Dave for a couple months and he equipped me with the tools needed to better understand myself and challenge the thought patterns that were not moving me forward towards my goals.
Most importantly though, I truly got the sense that he actually cared about me and my life. He learned about my family, my history, and what made me tick before he offered any feedback at all. He also thought about me and my situation throughout the week, not just during our calls. He always brought a positive attitude and infectious optimism while also not coming across as shallow or fake, and respecting any pain that I subjectively experienced.
I highly, highly recommend Dave for anyone looking for the type of support that he lays out on his profile. I will always be grateful that our lives crossed paths.
