My name is Dave and I am a clinical health psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the field.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and served my internship at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
I currently live in Scottsdale, Arizona (licensed psychologist in Arizona) and am on the Medical Staff at Honor Health Medical Center.
Although my clinical interests are broad, I have special training and experience in psychological aspects of chronic illness, including chronic pain and sleep disorders (especially insomnia). Beyond that, I am experienced in treatment of anxiety, depression and chemical dependency. I use motivational interviewing techniques as well, since we all have difficulty getting and staying motivated to make the changes we know we need!
It would be a pleasure to work with you if you believe my profile would be a good fit for you!

Very supportive, very clear on when he’s available. Reads written entries amazingly fast and has comments. I tend to be quite stoic, I don’t feel I’m progressing as much as I could, but if I don’t speak up what do I expect? I wouldn’t mind if I was startled into a realization. Dave is so gentle, I don’t think he would do that by asking a question or pinning down a perceived or real problem. For now I’m ok, he reinforces all that is good and that’s a great influence.

Dave is a straight shooter, and he cares about his patients. He responds well to my own discomfort, quickly recognizes patterns and behaviors within me to help build my self-awareness, isn't afraid to challenge me on my thoughts, gives me a chance to stumble about, is accommodating, and when the occasion arises, he helps me push myself to be a better me vs. helping me better understand myself. Great therapist, 10/10

I had put off getting help for years. I wasn’t sure if counseling/therapy was right for me, but it was one of the best decisions I have made thus far. My Therapist, Dr dave, was a great listener, very understanding, relate-able, and recommended tools relevant to my situation. I highly recommend him and counseling for anyone struggling through life’s difficult stages.
