About me

Hello, my name is David and I am a Licensed Counselor (LPC/LPCC) from rural Pennsylvania and recently relocated (again) to California. I completed my Masters in Counseling with a concentration in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

It can often be challenging to take that first step and reach out to a counselor. Fear of the unknown, concerns about being judged, or feeling like you should be able to just "tough it out" are incredibly common, you are not alone. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are just looking for a different approach you are welcome in this space. My work with individuals is focused on drawling upon positive practice to help you to utilize your own strengths and creativity to reach your goals.

I prioritize developing an accepting and open environment for discussion and will support you to move at your own pace, while also encouraging you to challenge yourself to grow. It is often difficult to see our own potential and worth, especially with everything going on in the world.

My focus is person centered, supporting you to discover your strengths and share your experiences. I deeply believe in a trauma informed, culturally aware approach to therapy.

If you have experience in therapy let me know what has worked for you in the past. If you have had negative therapy experiences in the past please be completely candid! Most of my experience as a therapist has been working with individuals in their homes, and because of this I am especially adaptable to different styles. I have utilized skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness practice, Solution focused Therapies, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and Reality Based techniques. In short, I will support you to utilize tools to manage stress, challenge negative beliefs in yourself, and support you on your journey to a happier and healthier life.
