About me
I am a licensed therapist located in Southern Maryland. I have been practicing therapy for over ten years, first working for a nonprofit agency, now in private practice. I have two masters degrees (MA: English, William and Mary; MS: Counseling, Johns Hopkins). At my previous position, I worked with both children and adults. My primary theoretical orientations are Rogerian (Client Centered), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). My empathetic nature, listening skills, and practical suggestions have led to successful outcomes with my clients throughout my counseling career. I taught English and Latin in a public high school for over thirty years prior to my counseling career. I have two grown, married children. My personal interests include reading, photography, music, and spending time with my one year old golden retriever, Henry.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Davis Rice. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Simply open and nonjudgmental conversations. Felt like i was talking to a old friend of my parents.
Easy to get comfortable and speak
Dave is great. Kind and caring, always a good listener and cheerleader.
Very helpful. I enjoy working with him.
Dave is an awesome therapist who shows interest in you and your interests! he’s definitely somebody i would recommend if you struggle to find someone to express interest in you and who you are
I find this service and Davis very helpful. Davis helps me think through my problems and doesn’t make me feel bad about myself while still helping to keep me accountable. Davis helps me move forward without berating me or making me feel bad. Davis pays attention to my goals and traits and remembers them in later meetings which is wonderful because I don’t have to go over every life event every meeting, Davis actually pays attention and is helping me keep on track. I would recommend this service or therapy in general to family, friends, enemies, and literally everyone.
Davis Rice is a knowledgeable and dedicated professional. I’ve greatly benefited from his services and enjoy his prompt responses.
I don’t have a dad anymore and Davis supports me like a dad, he’s professional, and i know for a fact that I can always Count on Davis and he cares about me. He goes above and beyond to help me. How blessed I am to have him as my therapist.
Davis is an amazing therapist! I have struggled for years to connect and have a therapist who doesn’t judge me or understands that I am not “cookie cutter” therapy client. I have continued to work with Davis and recommend him to anyone who is looking for a therapist after many negative encounters!
Davis is great. He helped me through some tough times. I will always be grateful for him.
Enjoying my sessions with Dr. Rice. I feel listened to and less chaotic in thinking patterns after.
Very good
It’s my first time trying therapy, and I didn’t expect to meet someone like Davis. He’s kind, funny, good listener, and understanding. Even on days I don’t have particular problems, I still feel better after talking with him!
