People reach out to a therapist for many reasons. Perhaps a life event has interrupted your usual way of living, maybe you've experienced a loss which has left you feeling devastated. Sometimes things happen in life which change the way we see ourselves, others, and the world or we just know that something doesn't feel right but can't understand why. Talking it through with a professional can make the difference between feeling like we're drifting without a paddle or being in control, steering your own ship.
I will listen attentively with a non-judgemental curiosity so that you can feel safe to tell me your story. Sometimes I might recommend a technique or activity which you can use to manage thoughts, emotions or behaviours which are not helpful for you. As you talk I will ask questions aimed at guiding you towards deeper understanding of yourself so that you can gain new perspectives and create choices. Every person is unique so the way I work with you will be tailored to what works best for you.
In 2017 I completed my training, having gained experience from a charity which supported survivors of abuse as well as working closely with the criminal justice system at Victim Support. Since graduating from the University of Hull, I have found opportunities to continue learning with some of the country's leading experts in CBT, Person-Centred Therapy, Online and Telephone Counselling, Trauma - Focussed Therapy and Solution - Focussed Therapy. I have chosen to work online and over the phone with lots of people who have had different needs, problems and abilities. The one thing they have all had in common is that they were suffering and felt ready to ask for help. If you're willing to work on you then I'm willing to work with you.

Donna has been extremely helpful. After each session I feel a little more weight has lifted or knots in my head untangled.
