About Me
My name is Donny Simpson. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University in 2012 and Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Cal State Fullerton. I was most recently a Child Welfare Social Worker and continue to manage Social Workers in Children and Family Services.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I have worked with clients with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship/marital and family problems, work-related stress and issues unique to the LGBT community. I also specialize in working with families involved in the Child Welfare system including reunification and/or adoption. It is my priority to maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening as well as retrospective.
My approach to therapy is laidback and conversational while providing goal-directed treatment using a combination of Cognitive and Solution Focused Therapy. I take a collaborative and supportive stance in my approach to therapy and I have been told that I am comfortable to be with and easy to talk to. All treatment is planned with the goal in mind and progress is made toward reaching that goal.
I look forward to working with you!

Donny has been my Rock during all this 2020 madness . He strengthens my resolve and makes me feel at ease when I can't
So far initial conversation has bee like talking with someone I've known.
Donny has been a great counselor! I really appreciate his straight forward but gentle approach. I thought we’d be talking about one thing but he is able to see passed the surface of the situation and see what’s really the problem. Working with him has been incredibly refreshing, I am fortunate to have his expertise in my life.
Donny is fantastic, our sessions so far have been incredibly helpful. He's empathetic, a great listener, and provides a safe, reassuring space to talk through complex feelings and formative experiences.
I've only had a few sessions with Donny but he's been so kind and compassionate. I look forward to speaking with him each week, and continuing to work with him.
Donny is great. He has a positive attitude and has been supportive in my journey to getting to a better place.
So far the experience has been great. We have used many exercises to find the root of my problems and how to work through.
Donny takes into account that there are layers to us all and helps determine how to help by asking relevant and insightful questions. He is kind and patient.
Donny has been helping me work through the grief of losing my 6 year old grandsons death and helping me to cope with taking care of my bed bound 77 year old mother that has Alzheimer’s as her caregiver.
Donny is a great therapist. He just listens to me and helps out with coming up with solutions to my problems. I really like him and I think he could help you too.
Donny is a joy to talk to; he is very knowledgeable, responsive, and checks in if I haven’t messaged him in a while, which are all very important to me. Thank you for listening and supporting me Donny, during this unsettling time!
