About me

Hello! My name is Elizabeth (Liz). I have a master’s degree in Counseling from Lindenwood University (2005) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. I also have a doctoral degree in Education Administration and a master’s degree in Business Management. I have been practicing as a therapist for over a decade. My professional training and background include working with adults in both short and long-term therapy. I have worked as a counselor for the United States Air Force, Department of Veterans Affairs, and in private practice. I have great expertise in communicating with individuals from different backgrounds and cultures. My professional experience has included helping individuals faced with PTSD/trauma, family conflict, mood disorders, addictions, grief, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
I am dedicated to building on the strengths of my clients to provide a secure place to help guide them into the journey of recovery and healing. My therapeutic approach is flexible based on the needs of the client, and often include helping people utilize their inner strengths to increase self-awareness and incorporate healthy coping skills to improve the quality of their relationships with themselves and others. More importantly, my goal is to help you reach a place in your life where you will experience the highest possible state of emotional and physical well-being.
I offer challenging insight with compassion and practical solutions aimed at developing a new awareness and fulfilling life for my clients. Dr. Franklin was able to help me and my husband break through some communication barriers around issues in our marriage. Her guidance allowed us to start working on our problems more effectively. She listens well and provides helpful ways to work through things.

Finding the right counselor for you isn't easy, but Dr. Franklin makes it easy by listening, answering your questions, and giving you the tools you need to feel better. I've seen a lot of therapists over the years, and Dr. Franklin is the best. If you're considering meeting with her, stop considering. She's the best.

Dr.Franklin is personable, understanding, and knowledgable. She is a great listener, and doesn't sugar coat things like a lot of other therapists. She is always responsive, and is quick to share ideas.
