About me

Hi there! I'm glad you've taken a step toward self-care by reaching out to us at BetterHelp. I've been a licensed mental health counselor in private practice for over 20 years and have provided therapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and marital and family conflict. I am a warm and active listener, and believe that the counseling process should be collaborative. In the therapeutic relationship, we will work together to discover your strengths and weaknesses, the things that drive you, and the solutions to your struggles. I am compassionate , non-judgmental, and ready to help you along your journey. In addition to Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, I use a variety of counseling theories and work hard to tailor the counseling process to fit what each person needs. As a person of Christian faith, I also incorporate a spiritual component in therapy for those who are open and interested in exploring their own spiritual beliefs and growth.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and Master's degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy and Education from Southwestern Seminary, but I also have plenty of life experience that is sometimes even more important than my degrees! Life is hard and full of trials for all of us, but I have learned that each difficulty we face can bring about deeper maturity and enduring hope for the future. I look forward to being a part of your journey!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Elizabeth Griffin. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Ongoing sessions with Dr Beth have changed my course on life (mentally and psychologically) onto more positive, secure way of looking at my future and less of the "family dynamics and constraints" that caused some lifelong emotional and spiritual strongholds. Her sessions are easy and open: relatable as she had to do the work she's helping others do, but as individuals and not "onesize fits all" techniques, tools and resources.

Grateful to have such a caring, intelligent, professional and real therapist I can share hard conversations with and never ever feel judged. As well as her being candid with my accountability and how to respond rather than react to conflict, etc. Thank you Beth and you are changing lives for the better!

Meeting Elizabeth through BetterHelp has been a game changer for my healing. She is empathetic and brings insight into my behaviors. But she does it in a kind and caring way, which allows me to open up and figure out how to grow.

Elizabeth (Beth) has provided the safe place, that I have been looking for to heal. I have been searching on and off for over 20 years, and when I met her, I knew she was the one. She met me where I was at, she did not push me beyond my comfort zone, yet she provided such a safe therapeutic environment, that it was easy for me to be vulnerable and really start working on the hard stuff.
