About me

Hi there! I'm glad you've taken a step toward self-care by reaching out to us at BetterHelp. I've been a licensed mental health counselor in private practice for over 20 years and have provided therapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and marital and family conflict. I am a warm and active listener, and believe that the counseling process should be collaborative. In the therapeutic relationship, we will work together to discover your strengths and weaknesses, the things that drive you, and the solutions to your struggles. I am compassionate , non-judgmental, and ready to help you along your journey. In addition to Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, I use a variety of counseling theories and work hard to tailor the counseling process to fit what each person needs. As a person of Christian faith, I also incorporate a spiritual component in therapy for those who are open and interested in exploring their own spiritual beliefs and growth.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and Master's degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy and Education from Southwestern Seminary, but I also have plenty of life experience that is sometimes even more important than my degrees! Life is hard and full of trials for all of us, but I have learned that each difficulty we face can bring about deeper maturity and enduring hope for the future. I look forward to being a part of your journey!
