About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with my Masters in Counseling Psychology. For the past 10 years, I have been working with adults, adolescents, children and families from various backgrounds. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, ADHD, and trauma.

My counseling style is a combination of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Solution-Focused. I think it is very important to focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship to help the counseling process be most effective. I believe in meeting the client where they are mentally and emotionally in order to help them work toward what they would like to achieve in counseling. I always encourage and support the client with creating individualized therapeutic goals to help motivate and empower the client to make positive changes.

I look forward to working with you and helping you overcome the challenges you are experiencing.

Emily is very kind and understanding. She makes me feel like I'm being listened to when no one else will listen, and I feel very comfortable talking about all my problems with her.

Emily is an excellent counselor. I am so happy that I got so lucky as to find her. She’s really been helping me get through a tough time and always checks in with me weekly, even after our phone calls, to see how I’m doing. She even sent me resources that I can use to strengthen my process of healing. She is a wonderful counselor and person, and anyone would be lucky to have her as a counselor!
