About Me

My name is Eva Washington and I use an eclectic treatment approach which can embrace people from all backgrounds. The one approach I do believe is appropriate for all is the Person Centered approach. You can never go wrong focusing on the person and tailoring treatment to the individual. My life experience affords me a practical approach not every therapist can experience from the classroom. I specialize in trauma and substance abuse. I work with adults, young adults, teens, and couples.

Eva really knows what she’s doing. I wanted help, and was lost. Eva listened and pointed me in the right direction. I have trust issues, I’d like to say that she’s very easy to trust.

I’ve had some bad therapists in my life so I came into this not expecting much or anything at all but Eva has 100% proved me wrong. She’s so supportive, motivational, inquisitive and wants to see you grow within yourself. I love the questions she asks because they’re the type of questions that really help me think outside the box of my own mind and also the type of questions I can challenge myself with.. very thought provoking. I love the fact she is a real one. She won’t tell you what you want to hear, she will tell you what you need to hear but she’s so kind about it, she doesn’t make you feel stupid. I look forward to speaking with her because it’s like talking to your friend who is super wise and has a healthy view of life. So far, every session I’ve had with her I’ve walked away feeling better, feeling like I can accomplish anything. Eva equips me with the mindset and tools for success. Her presence has helped me improve so much already.

She’s very blunt with me which I appreciate, she has a tough love feel, which works for me. She checks in, I can talk on n on and she’s extremely polite about it, and realistic with me, with what I can and can not control, so that’s been incredibly helpful useful, and I’m focusing on the power of acceptance and only what I can do, and sometimes we really have done everything but unfortunately that’s not THE point, that’s it’s delivery of the message not the message, and that I’m my top priority. Very constructive and connecting dots going back with familiar history or incidents, starting the the bottom to the top, and giving me more insightful exercises to do that help clear up why I am the way I am.
