About me
Helping you understand yourself, rebuild self-trust and create meaningful change
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with a background that combines professional psychotherapy training with over 25 years of experience working with health, wellbeing and the human body.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and a BSc in Exercise Health, which has shaped my understanding of the connection between physical health, emotions, thoughts and behaviour.
My journey into therapy has been influenced not only by my professional training, but also by personal experience. I have lived with OCD for over 30 years and understand first-hand the impact of intrusive thoughts, anxiety, overthinking, uncertainty and the constant search for reassurance. I also have experience of neurodivergence, including ADHD and autistic traits, which has deepened my understanding of feeling different, overwhelmed, misunderstood or like you have spent years adapting to meet expectations.
I believe therapy is not about changing who you are. It is about understanding yourself more fully, recognising the patterns that have developed throughout your life, and creating more freedom and choice.
My approach is warm, honest and collaborative. I draw from several therapeutic approaches including person-centred therapy, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis, attachment-based work and psychodynamic ideas. I do not believe therapy should be a one-size-fits-all process; instead, we work together to understand what is meaningful and helpful for you.
Many people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, lost or disconnected from themselves. They may appear capable and successful externally but privately struggle with anxiety, OCD, low self-worth, perfectionism, people pleasing, relationship difficulties or a sense that they have lost touch with who they really are.
I am particularly interested in the ways we learn to protect ourselves. Sometimes coping strategies that once helped us survive difficult experiences can later become patterns that keep us feeling trapped. Therapy provides a space to explore these patterns with compassion, curiosity and honesty.
My aim is to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you can be open about your experiences, understand yourself more deeply and begin developing greater confidence, self-trust and authenticity.
I believe meaningful change comes from both understanding and action. Therapy is not only about exploring the past; it is also about helping you build a future that feels more aligned with who you are

Grant is not judgemental and tries to get to the root of the problem without being distracted by the symptom.
