Heather Fairfax, LMFT, LPC
About me
I am a licensed professional counselor in both Virginia and California, with eight years of experience supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges. My areas of focus include stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and issues related to motivation, self-esteem, and confidence.
As a faith-based counselor, I bring a holistic perspective to the therapeutic process, integrating the spiritual dimension of life as a meaningful and healing part of your journey. I believe that taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and balanced life is an act of courage—and I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and encouragement.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Client-Centered Therapy, which places your experience, autonomy, and personal wisdom at the core of our work together. I also integrate solution-based interventions to help identify practical, strength-focused steps toward meaningful change. You are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where growth can happen naturally and collaboratively.
You’ll find that my counseling style is relaxed and compassionate. I strive to create a welcoming environment where you feel safe to express yourself openly. I also believe in the healing power of humor—it’s not uncommon for a session to include a bit of laughter when the moment calls for it.
Above all, I am committed to building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, authenticity, and mutual respect. Your well-being is at the heart of my work, and I consider it a deep honor to support you on your journey.
Whatever challenges you may be facing, I want you to know that help is available, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we’ll explore your goals, draw upon your inner strengths, and work toward solutions that align with your values and vision for the future.
