Heather Morefield, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma with over 3 years of experience working as a counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-harm, relationship issues, parenting problems, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. My counseling style is warm and interactive with a bit of sense of humor too. I believe that genuineness and competence need to be present in the counselor in order to help facilitate change. I believe in meeting a person where they are at in their life when they come to see me.
My approach is designed to work with you as the individual in creating goals and treatment plans that are designed to meet your specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Heather holds space for my concerns and helps me challenge thoughts that no longer serve me. I appreciate her depth of knowledge in different topics. She is a kind, caring therapist who has significantly changed my attitude and coping mechanisms.

If you're looking for a real, relatable, open-minded, person who actively participates in conversation about your therapy and life, Heather is a great option. She's easy to talk to and a great listener but she doesn't just listen, she participates in conversation instead of simply validating experiences and active listening, which maybe works for some people. I was clear in the beginning I needed someone who helped me work out/talk out some of the things troubling me and Heather really does that. It took me a while "shopping" around for the right fit through better help but I really enjoy Heather.
