Heather Ross, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Utah with 8 years of professional work experience, while I’ve worked in the mental health industry for 12 years (inpatient treatment for youth, inpatient treatment for adults, CPS, foster care, DV shelter, and in home services for people with disabilities). I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, body image, perfectionism, attachment challenges, and LGBTQIA-related issues, disordered eating, coping with grief, & coping with loss. I also have experience working with clients who have dual diagnosis, autism, personality disorders, OCD, BPD, Bipolar, and ODD. Finding the right therapist is an important first step toward healing—and I believe that the most effective therapy begins with a strong, trusting relationship. My approach is identity-centered and grounded in compassion, presence, and genuine understanding. My role is to help you reconnect with that inner wisdom—serving as a sounding board, offering support, and holding space for self-discovery and growth.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I am trained in Brainspotting—a powerful, neuroscience-based modality that can help process trauma more deeply and efficiently. Many of my clients have found Brainspotting to be transformative, especially when other approaches haven’t gone far enough.

Heather is amiable, considerate, and attentive in her listening. Occasionally, I wish she would offer more constructive advice.

Heather is an amazing therapist! She’s a great listener and has some great ideas that help, without being overbearing. She has really helped me process some things and gave me some great perspective. I never feel judged at all and she is incredibly kind and funny!
