Helen Jefferson
About me
Hi, I’m Helen Jefferson — a UK-based Psychotherapist offering online therapy for adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and personal transformation.
Motivation for becoming a therapist:
I had quite a traumatising childhood, faced bereavement, loss, religious control, abuse. My journey has been interesting and I left a high control religious organisation, losing most of the people, friends, family I knew. I decided after this that it was my calling to help others to heal from similar experiences. I did it, it was a difficult journey, and I know you can too.
You can be happy and start over again, I am here to encourage and support you because each and every one of us will struggle with mental health at some point, it's nothing to be ashamed of, every day is a new beginning.
With over 8 years of clinical experience, and 12 years within Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, I bring depth, flexibility, and a strong understanding of complex mental health issues. My background spans inpatient, outpatient, crisis, forensic, and residential settings — giving me a grounded, trauma-informed lens to support a wide range of client needs.
Who I Work With
I specialise in working with high-functioning professionals, trauma survivors, and individuals under pressure. My clients have included:
Frontline professionals (NHS, MoD, RAF, HMPPS, Fire Service, Ministry of Justice)
Journalists, Members of Parliament, and corporate executives
Celebrities and public-facing individuals
Survivors of narcissistic abuse, cult involvement, trafficking, and ritual abuse
Adults living abroad (expats) or navigating major life transitions
I offer culturally sensitive, inclusive therapy to clients from all backgrounds and ethnicities.
