About me

Welcome. I’m an empathetic, compassionate and experienced therapist who believes that meaningful change begins when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, grief, trauma-related concerns, and challenges with confidence, identity, and personal growth.

My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and tailored to you as an individual. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I take time to understand what you are experiencing, what may be contributing to the difficulties you are facing, and what you would like to change. Together, we can explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviours while developing realistic strategies that you can use in everyday life.

Depending on your needs and goals, I draw upon evidence-informed therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, solution-focused techniques, mindfulness-based strategies, and psychoeducation. I can support you in understanding difficult emotions, challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, strengthening boundaries, improving communication, developing healthier coping strategies, and building greater confidence and emotional resilience.

You may particularly benefit from working with me if you find yourself overthinking, worrying excessively, putting other people's needs before your own, struggling to set boundaries, feeling emotionally exhausted, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or feeling stuck despite knowing that something in your life needs to change.

I aim to create a therapeutic space that is respectful, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and psychologically safe. Therapy with me is not simply about talking through problems; it is also about helping you understand yourself more deeply and giving you practical tools that can support meaningful and sustainable change.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you are unsure where to begin. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We can begin with what feels most important to you and work at a pace that feels manageable, with the aim of helping you move towards greater clarity, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Hiba Choksy. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Hiba is very sweet and understanding. She has a calm and gentle manner and listens intently to my verbal stream. I find it hard to find the time to do worksheets between sessions, but when I do dip into them, they can help me reflect and try to build pause & better habits.

Hiba is personable, patient and easy to talk to.
One of my biggest issues is that I have a big old bag of problems -emotionally-psychologically-physically...and I don't know where to start or what to concentrate on. Hiba is gently guiding me through the clutter in my traumatised and neurodivergent mind, to become more understanding of myself, more mindful and better at coping - for that I am eternally grateful.
Hiba is helping me find a better state of mental health.

I’ve been with my therapist for a month now maybe longer. And the way Hiba shows compassion and understanding is amazing. She understands my true problems, especially with losing my mum. I couldn’t imagine a better therapist

Hiba is an incredibly kind and conscientious therapist who expresses compassion and empathy in a way I have not experienced with any other therapist (I have had 4 previously). I would highly recommend Hiba to anyone who requires an insightful counsellor that provides a truly safe space to be yourself, without judgement. Thank you so much Hiba!
