I have been working as a therapist since 2008 in both private practice and community-based settings. The diagnoses that I have the most experience with are Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Depression and other mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, as well as intellectual disabilities and behavior problems. Additionally, I have done extensive training/work with crisis intervention, addressing traumatic experiences, parenting difficulties, challenges that are unique to foster care/adoption circumstances, and self-harming behavior. I am a fully licensed Master's level social worker, and am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have also completed advanced trainings in Motivational Interviewing and in various parenting strategies/interventions. For me, it is very important to take the time to understand my client's circumstances and the factors contributing to the current challenges in your life. I take a strengths-based approach when working with all of my clients because I believe that you are so much more than just a list of symptoms or problems. I love to see my clients thriving, and I hope you will let me walk alongside you in your journey!

Irene is amazing and I couldn’t ask for a better therapist. Weekly sessions feel as comfortable as a weekly catch up with a friend. I do most of the talking, while Irene offers validation to my experiences while offering perspectives and questions that typically allow me to think more deeply and form a better understanding of the topics we discuss. I was a bit nervous about what my experience would be like with BetterHelp, but I am extremely lucky that I got matched with Irene.

Irene has been very patient, understanding and supportive. Starting therapy is hard, and it’s also hard to find someone that is all three things listed above so to have found a therapist that has been patient, understanding and supportive goes a long way. Even if you don’t have a live session scheduled, Irene will reach out and give you tools to use to help you with whatever it is you’re dealing with.
