I am a licensed professional counselor with a PhD in psychology from Michigan, I have over 15 years of experience in outpatient therapy. I have worked with people who have a broad range of concerns including depression, anxiety, life change issues, career challenges and changes, grief counseling, educational challenges, and phobias. I have worked with people who experience obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management issues, relationship issues, body image concerns, and self-esteem issues. I have worked with people who are having difficulty with coping, emotional strife, aging concerns, and serious health issues. I have worked with LGBTQ clients, teens, adults, the senior population and those from both affluent and economically disadvantaged families.
I am eclectic with a down to earth approach, in other words, I use a variety of approaches and techniques to help based on the person’s individual needs and I am a strong believer in homework in therapy. That is, the person will have work to do outside our sessions that will assist in the individual more readily meeting their goals. The goals established will be developed in a collaborative manner between myself and the individual. The sessions will be interactive and unique to the individual and their needs.
I treat everyone with respect and do not make judgments. My goal is to help and I consider myself a natural born helper and counseling as a collaborative process in an environment, that is safe, confidential, and empowering where all are accepted. Counseling is a process that some individuals use temporarily and for some long term, whichever a person chooses I am here to help. Participating in counseling is a step toward self-awareness and I understand how difficult it can be to face complex issues that hinder everyday life. Let’s talk!

Dr. Klumpp (aka Dr. J) is wonderful! In the past year or so I have been seeing her, I have made tremendous strides with my anxiety, confidence, and most importantly in validating the way I feel. I feel more self assured than I have in a long time and I have her support, flexibility, and understanding to thank for that. Dr. J tells it how it is in a thoughtful way. Also, it's rare to find a therapist where you can go from crying to laughing in one session! Dr. J is the best!

I have been so grateful for Dr. Klumpp's support these past few months and have nothing but kind words to share about her. She is a compassionate listener but isn't afraid to jump into action when the time is right. I appreciate her ability to be gentle while also having a go-getter attitude and I have enjoyed that our time together feels like a truly engaged conversation rather than me talking at a screen. She has helped me to see that there is a path forward and there is room for me in this world and for that, I will be forever grateful.

I haven’t had many sessions yet (only 3), and so far we have covered a lifetime of material. I consider my self-diagnosed, solution oriented way of life a lot to keep up with and felt it was serving me until I realized I need a qualified and time conscious professional to help me navigate my experiences to achieve my potential in life. Dr. Klumpp has met me where I am intellectually and emotionally from Day 1. Together we haven’t waisted a minute. She very resourceful, qualified and will challenge me as an accountability partner. She does this in a meaningful and intentional way, which I would call inviting. I’m excited to grow as a result of continuing to work with Dr. Klumpp. I think I’ve found my perfect match on my first try of online, web-based counceling.

Written on May 27, 2020 after therapy with J (JoLene) for 3 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, and relationship issues
Dr. J Klumpp has been my grounding rod since I’ve started counseling just two short weeks ago.
I’ve never had any formal mental health therapy prior, and have always been a little embarrassed about admitting I need help. I felt like I could / should be strong enough to handle it by myself. This was until I hit my breaking point.
I felt trapped like I didn’t have any options. This was when I saw a BetterHelp ad on Instagram.
(because you know Big Brother is listening)
I finally felt this was what I needed and was an investment into proper mental health.
You are worth it.
Invest into yourself.
You’ll yank yourself after you commit to a regiment.
Doc J Klumpp listens to me, and always provides actionable advice that is straight to the point while providing words of wisdom that make sense. No philosophical gibberish whatsoever.
Just professional advice from a kind, caring, helpful human.
Gratitude Dr. J
Your words and positive energy mean more to me than you may ever know.
Have a day that matters.
