Hello. I'am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. I have been working for 13+ years with families and clients of all ages. I enjoy helping and supporting clients on their individual journey. I have helped clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, adjustment issues, relationship challenges, anger management, self esteem, not being raised by biological family, and more.
My therapeutic style allows for adjustment, as I meet clients where they are, understanding that some might appreciate more direction, while others require less. Through it all, I uphold the value of vulnerability, walking alongside clients, building trust. I put my clients in the driver's seat, as we unravel complicated feelings, trauma, and pain, in order to gain peace, wholeness, and empowerment.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the first step towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jacquetta Mcghie. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I always look forward to my sessions with Jacquetta. She's insightful and caring. Her strategies to work with my anxiety are very helpful. She gets me to talk more in depth about issues I glaze over as they've become so common to me, a testimony to her listening skills and therapeutic experience. And she definitely isn't worried to call me out either. My favourite part however is that we can laugh together and do so frequently.
I love my sessions with Jacquetta. I’ve been seeing her for a couple of months now and I’m so happy to have found someone who I feel comfortable talking to. She’s a great listener and gives amazing advice. She makes me feel secure in myself and asks the right questions to promote discussion. Love her energy
Amazing therapist full of positive energy and great insights. She really listens closely to my concerns and gives useful recommendations to deal with them. I’ve found a lot of support in her and I’m happy to go forward with our sessions
I just finished my first session with Jacquetta and WOW! Jacquetta is very friendly and gives you the space to express what you are feeling with no judgement. I absolutely adore her and can't wait for our next session ☺️
So far Jacquetta has been excellent! She is supportive and gives me clear direction of what to expect from therapy.
Jacquetta is an amazing listener, always asking the right questions at the right time. She has a great sense of humor. Jacquetta took my concerns and goals at the beginning and helped me reach those throughout our time together. She was always pushing me to dig deeper and really get the most out of my time with her.
We are at the very beginning and I look forward to working with Jacquetta
Jacquetta has been such a huge help to me during my challenging times. Going through divorce and grief at the same time has been rough, but being able to talk to Jacquetta and getting her expertise and how to deal with the hard moments, has made a huge difference in my day to day life!
To me, to have a professional therapist who is also a person of color is very important, because he/she mostly knows about the culture with afro-descendant people when it comes to mental health issues.
Ms. Mcghie continues to provide helpful and effective counseling.
I have really enjoyed working with Jacquetta. She has been great at helping me process through my jumble of thoughts and feelings. She is caring and listens well, and she focuses well on the patient. She gave me specific topics and things to consider in between sessions as well, which was helpful. I feel like I am in a much better place now than when I started therapy, and for that, I am so thankful.
Jacquetta is an experienced therapist who generates calm with her genuine approach. I was immediately at ease and felt comfortable sharing. My session was a very positive and enlightening experience and I look forward to continuing on with Jacquetta.
