About me

As a licensed therapist with three decades of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's most challenging transitions and emotional landscapes. My practice focuses on helping clients navigate complex personal experiences, including grief, career difficulties, self-worth challenges, and significant life changes.

I offer compassionate direct support for a wide range of concerns, including communication problems, isolation, workplace dynamics, relationship transitions, and personal growth. My approach is particularly attuned to men's issues, midlife challenges, older adult/ retirement support, and the unique experiences of first responders, veterans, and members of the intelligence community.

With a deep understanding of human resilience, I create a supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions, heal from past experiences, and develop stronger coping strategies. My work centers on helping individuals rediscover their sense of purpose, work through guilt and shame, and build more fulfilling lives.

I'm committed to walking alongside my clients, offering guidance and support as they navigate complex emotional terrain and work towards personal transformation.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James Hagins. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

James 'Ed' Hagins was a great help during my time of need. His expertise, attitude and perspectives were very helpful and helped to stabilize me. I looked for someone who is very direct and has experience around with certain topics. I was worried whether I could find somebody I could trust in and open up to. Immediately during our first conversation, I knew Ed was a great match for me. Thank you very much.

James is honest and supports being honest with yourself. Even though honesty can be difficult he is aware of how vital it can be to fix a situation. He doesn’t lead you on and try to have you reach a conclusion. I Highly recommend James!
