A kind, considerate and thoughtful man, I find James very calming while I try and discover who I am.

Acceptance can be such a hard thing to define. I needed to find a therapist who accepted how autism shows up in thoughts and patterns. James provided that connection for me, I didn't have to explain why I thought certain ways or why I struggle with certain societal expectations. I didn't need or seek answers for those and James showed how autism isn't about being broken and needing a solution. We could talk about other things and get more done in each session.

I reached out at a very vulnerable time in my life and through BetterHelp was matched up with Jim. His profile was broad but very specific to what i felt i needed experience in.
These past months with Jim have proven time amd again that he was gentle in his approach but direct and clear about working with me on my goals with his guidance along the way. I couldnt have asked for a better therapist who understands me and my struggle acutely and can relate to many of my stories in a way that i havent had before. He has been an amazing help in reminding myself of many things, an outlet when needed and a voice of reason when my own fails to account because it is me in the situation. Early on he would push towards the hard topics but once i opened up and we could see the issues more clearly i have been in charge of my own progress, with reminders to keep assessing why they are there.
I think his methods are direct yet gentle and work well for me, i highly recommend Jim for anyone struggling that needs a clear and genuinely caring helping hand.
