About me

Hi there, I'm James Vanstone — JV Therapy.
You've arrived here for a reason.
Maybe you've been carrying something for a long time — a weight that's quietly shaped your relationships, your confidence, or your sense of self. Maybe you've tried to find answers before, or maybe this is the very first time you've allowed yourself to reach out. Either way, I want you to know something important: the fact that you're here takes real courage, and I am genuinely glad you've found your way to this page.
For years I've had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the most difficult and transformative chapters of their lives — not just here in the UK, but with clients from every corner of the world. Men and women, from vastly different walks of life, all with one thing in common: they wanted something to change. And it did.
What I offer isn't just a space to talk. It's a space where you will be truly heard — without judgment, without agenda, and without pressure. Together, we'll work at your pace to understand what's been holding you back and to build something far more powerful in its place.
I work with people navigating:

Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
Trauma, abuse, and victimisation
Grief and bereavement
Low self-esteem, confidence, and motivation
Attachment and relationship challenges
Couples therapy
Bullying and its lasting impact on identity

My approach is warm, direct, and deeply practical. I believe that lasting change doesn't have to be complicated — but it does have to be real. That's why I focus on building genuine connection with you quickly, and on giving you a toolkit of clear, effective strategies that you can carry with you long after our sessions end. Skills that become part of who you are. Habits of mind and heart that will serve you for the rest of your life.
Clients I've worked with — from London to Los Angeles, from Sydney to Riyadh —and throughout Europe have gone on to build richer relationships, rediscover their confidence, and step into lives they once only hoped for. That transformation is available to you too.
You deserve to feel well. Not just better — genuinely, lastingly well.
I'd love to be the one to help you get there. Please take the first step and reach out so that we can have a conversation together soon.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for James Vanstone. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

James made me feel at ease instantly, and he genuinely listened and offered great insight and priceless advise and knowledge with what I'm facing. I wish I'd have been introduced sooner, I should've given betterhelp a go earlier.
