My name is James “Ryan” White. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Alabama. I have been a therapist for more than nine years. I have been licensed for almost 5 years. I specialize in dialectical behavioral therapy. Specifically, DBT informed therapy. What that means for my clients is real solutions to problems quickly using DBT skills. DBT skills allow you to better control and understand your emotions. These skills have worked wonders with my clients with depressive disorders, panic disorders, and PTSD. I specialize in personality disorders as well. Over the years I have worked with adults with mental disorders as well as substance abuse difficulties. I look forward to working with you and helping you to identify goals- so that you can look forward to life after whatever difficulties you’re having now . Remember whatever brings you here is just a chapter of your life it’s not the whole book. Let’s work together to rewrite your story so that you look forward to the days ahead.

Whether you are having a temporary setback or in my case a complete mental breakdown… Ryan is your guy. He skillfully navigated me through the tumultuous waves of trauma that relentlessly pounded my chest, but after I put in the work… I was no longer drowning in the abyss of my mind , and no longer anchored to the moments that sunk me. There really isn’t a price point you can put in having your life back so indeed this experience to me… is priceless .
What makes him a great therapist is his straight forward attitude, his belief you can and will get better , but mostly it was his sense of compassion that really sets him apart. Ryan doesn’t just teach DBT but he lives , breathes, and thinks it as well. The skills and advice he gives will be things you use every single day. You will hear “this five minutes “ probably every five minutes but it’s because that needs to hit home, for every single trauma survivor whose brain launches you into the past … this five minutes is crucial …
He didn’t just change my life… he saved it. And that ripple effect… goes all the way out, he saved me , he saved my marriage , he saved my family, and that’s a legacy that doesn’t win awards, doesn’t get degrees but alters the entire scope of humanity.
So thank you Ryan. I’m finally living in “this five minutes”

He helped me save myself for once instead of me trying to save everyone else! I’ve recommended him many times over and will continue to do so! It’s been almost 8 months since my last session with him and I I’ve finally been succeeding! I feel happy and content with my life and myself again!
