About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas, and I have been practicing for over 8 years now, working in outpatient, day treatment and inpatient acute care settings. I have worked with clients with a variety of needs including managing anxiety and depression, addressing loss and significant life changes, traumatic experiences and general daily life stressors. I have experience working with self-esteem and confidence building and working to have a better outlook on daily life.

My counseling style is relaxed and solutions focused. I believe that everyone that has taken the first step to enter into counseling deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and to feel that their voice is heard and their needs are being addressed. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client centered and solution focused therapy to identify where each client is when they enter counseling and to meet them there to begin the process of change and growth.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and encourage you along the way.
I look forward to working with you!

Thoroughly pleased with my last session

Written on Jan 05, 2023 after therapy with Jamie for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, and self esteem

Jamie has shown both a great level of professional care but also personal care as well. She truly desires to help people who want/need help and is willing to do what she can to accomplish that. I couldn't ask for a better therapist.

Jamie is wonderful. She validates my experiences and offers small things I can do as homework that have a huge impact in my life. And her humor genuinely helps me relax while we're talking and put things into perspective.

Jamie is wonderful: attentive, receptive, quick to respond, kind, and intelligent. She has helped me so much through a difficult period of my life and always has a variety of times available for appointments that always fit my schedule. She is well-informed and compassionate, providing therapy that is insightful and considerate. She is also easy to relate to and we often find ourselves laughing during sessions! I cannot recommend Jamie highly enough; she is wonderful.

I have been working with Jamie for over a year and it has been so lovely to have someone to hear me out after a tough week. She is a great listener (and has brilliant book recommendations too)! I feel very grateful to be in a better place than when I started therapy and look forward to seeing how I cope on my own now. Thank you Jamie!!
