Mankind is made of strong stuff; we are resilient and adaptive by nature. Sometimes we forget this, and allow self-doubt to bog us down. I have trained in many tools of the trade over the years, but the most effective strategy I have found in helping others is to help them to find the answers they seek within themselves. Using this approach, with tools from Dialectical, Cognitive, Behavioral, Psychoanalytic, Life-Stage, Systems, Holistic, Biofeedback, and other schools of thought, there is nothing that you cannot overcome. from temporary life challenges to severe mental illness. I have experience across a range of populations: children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, forensics, geriatrics, residential settings, crisis counseling, and the severely mentally ill. I am currently a behavioral health supervisor in a setting providing mobile services to the seriously mentally ill. I have worked as a Social Worker since 2001 and find my life more enriched with each and every experience.
My name is Jane Meyers, and I am an LCSW-R from Upstate NY. I am 48 years old, have three children (adult). I have been interested in psychology and anything to do with human behavior for as long as I can remember. My first Associate's Degree was from a local community college, and from there I finished my bachelor's degree through an online state university program. I received my Master of Social Work Degree from Marywood University.
I have practice privately on the side, largely to broaden my range of experience with different populations and modalities of therapy. I have long felt that telecounseling will be able to provide services to those who might not otherwise be able to engage with a therapist, so I am very pleased to be able to work in this manner.
I look forward to learning from each and every one of you in our work together.
- Stress, Anxiety
- Trauma and abuse
I also have experience in Addictions, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Bipolar disorder

Jane is warm and compassionate. She helps me find practical and actionable ways to problem solve. She is non-judgemental and wise!
From my first call with Jane Meyers I felt a connection with her. She listens and provides meaningful feedback. I believe this will be as helpful as face to face counseling without the pressure of trying to find time to travel to appointment.
Extremely well studied with plenty of relevant experience. Pleasant and knowledgeable over video and consistently checks in without prompting. Truly everything you could hope for in a therapist.
I highly recommend Jane. You can tell she has a lot of experience and very professional. From our first session to today. She listens and gives constructive feedback. Thank you, Jane, and looking to a better me :)
Have had 2 sessions this far and can say that after the first session it was clear that Jane is capable of providing a welcoming and comfortable therapeutic environment even via this virtual medium. She is very knowledgeable and I am very excited to be working with her on my issues.
Jane, thanks a ton for your support, wisdom, and patience. Working with you has made a better, stronger, more resilient version of myself. I'd recommend Jane to everyone searching for a competent and understanding counselor.
Jane is phenomenally bright and kind and curious. I'm so lucky to have found her.
Jane is the only counselor I've ever had to actually help me. For 30 years I've been in therapy off and on, nothing ever changed. She has helped me so much more than I thought possible.
I have been counseling with Jane for about a year. She is excited to offer solutions for my problems, she gives me good advice that is (sometimes) hard to hear, but needed! I recommend her to anyone who seeks to become mentally well and in control of their life
Both attentive and compassionate. Also flexible, intuitive, and practical. Great counselor.
Jayne is always there to chat with she helps me see the picture when it becomes blurred.
She’s just amazing. Love her down to earth attitude but professional at all times.
Jane is smart, funny and empathetic. She's well-versed in her field and has the kind of experience that only comes with time, observation and sincere critical thinking. I really like Jane and the positive energy/passion she brings to our sessions.
Jane is a kind and very caring person. She is a great counselor who offers many practical and positive and helpful suggestions. She has a very sound understanding of trauma and her guidance has been very helpful . I am grateful to have found her.
Jane's gentle re-approaches remind me that I am never alone with my battles, even when I'm struggling to put my emotions into words. She has offered to open her daily schedule up to offer one-on-one time when the urgency in my messages would have gone unnoticed by many. I am very happy to have matched with her, as she keeps me grounded, smiling and persevering.
I have enjoyed and appreciated having Jane as my counselor. She is very responsive, knowledgeable and understanding. She offers great advice. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a warm and kind-hearted counselor.
Very sweet and always there for me making sure I’m okay at all times!
I like her. She is very attentive and on point. She makes me think and see things differently
Jane has really helped me the past few weeks. When I first came to her, I felt really, really alone and like I didn't have anyone who would understand me. But Jane is always there to listen. She's given me a lot of techniques to deal with my anxiety and depression. I feel much better after our sessions and like I know what to focus on next.
Jane offers very quick and attentive advice and keeps up with me, even when I get into the habit of not responding or when I become secluded. She also offers a variety of tools and means of communication so that we can continue making progress.
I cannot recommend Jane more highly. As a professional seeking counseling with too much on my plate already, Jane has been exactly what I needed in form and substance. From helping me find perspective as I navigate a new marriage, job, and home, to checking my BS habits that were holding me back, all with the flexibility of the BetterHelp platform. If it were not for Jane and this system I never would have gotten the consistent, responsive help I desperately needed to make real change.
Checks in on a regular basis, makes sure that your well being is taken care of. She listens and gives great tips and advice that have actually helped with my anxiety (:
Very active and really all I could ask for in a counselor!
Jane is open and understanding - offering a listening ear when needed, as well as some strategically placed suggestions for growth.
Very helpful. Thanks a lot.
So far, Jane has been exceptionally helpful in empowering me to understand my anxiety and how to begin addressing it. There's a lot of work to do, but I know that I will get better at it. She listens/ reads carefully and responds in kind. It's fantastic to have a partner/ coach like Jane in this. I look forward to my continued emotional growth with her guidance.
Jane is a fantastic therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and clearly very passionate about helping others. I felt comfortable talking about difficult topics with her, and her open minded attitude really made me feel a lot less weird about my anxiety and OCD. Thank you for working with me, Jane!
Jane is sooo nice! She's super knowledgeable in various aspects, and what she doesn't know she will do research on, just for me! She takes time to understand what she needs to, and really offers herself to me in every way.
Jane seems like a lovely lady who has the time and patience for people in need of counseling. I wish her all the best in her future.
