About me

I am a self-advocate and activist with over ten years personal and professional experience working with adults and children in the Disability Community. I am trained in Social Work and Disability Studies and have an interdiciplinary practice orientation. I call New Orleans home again after a three years in Chicago, and am dedicated to involvement in local and global Disability communities.

As a Coach and Counselor in Queer and Disability communities I understands the specific structural barriers people with diverse identities face. I bring a Neurodiversity and Disability pride perspective to coaching and counseling by sharing knowledge of history, theory, and social models. I believe employment or occupation seeking is a great place to begin exploring any change you want to make in your life. Employment counseling can bring up issues related to anxiety, depression, Autism, ADHD, chronic pain, and other Neurodiversities and Disabilities. I am Queer, Trans, and Non-Binary allied.

Jane is amazing! Super knowledgeable and responds to messages quickly. She's straight to the point and has unique insights with neurodivergent people like myself

Jane has been tremendous help since I started working with her. I don’t have much experience with counselling/therapy, and I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot with Jane. She communicates well, helps me approach my challenges and overcome them, and offers insight that I often can’t see.

Jane is a wonderful person to work with and talk to! She is supportive and listens to my needs. Jane helped me through some really hard times in my life and still helps me thrive each day. She helped me discover who I am and what I want, as well as how to be okay with it. Jane helped me realize my needs are not too much to meet and that I’m not alone in the way I see the world and relationships.

I have been very happy working Jane.

One of the benefits of Better Help is that if a match with your counsellor isn't working, it's very convenient to switch. I have been on the platform for a few years and have never had a 'bad' counsellor, but have chosen to get rematched when I felt I wasn't engaging the way I hoped.

Although I struggle to put into words without sharing personal details- Jane has always made me feel heard and seen. In and out of video sessions she has excellent communication skills and I often felt appreciation for her check ins leading up to an upcoming session.

I particularly appreciate her insight into subjects surrounding Neurodivergent people and coping with the struggles associated with that day to day.

I have been working with her for I believe over 7months and am very happy with the progress I have made.
