About Me

Lets be honest, I know that it is not always easy to come to therapy and talk about difficult issues, however I want to assure you that I am here to help you with whatever life has thrown your way, and I am in this journey to self-improvement with you. Additionally, I want to teach you the skills I use to work through these problems so that you will come away from therapy with a better understanding of yourself, and how to independently work through your issues in the future. I specialize in relationship issues, couples, stress and anxiety management, anger/aggression management, depression and bipolar, and LBGT issues. My passion is helping people, and I would be happy to help you.

I am new to online counseling and thoroughly enjoyed how supportive and helpful Jay was. I come to counseling during a time of true stress, Jay was able to talk me down from that platform by being empathetic, respectful, and caring.

Written by E.D. on Oct 27, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and career difficulties

He says the things I know already but keep pushing away. The truth hurts sometimes but we need to hear it. And though every time I’m apprehensive at first, I always come down from it knowing he’s right. He has helped me a lot.

Written by J.A. on Oct 19, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 3 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, and relationship issues

I need to get to the root of me and I think we are getting there. I am so busy that it is tough to carve out what would be an in person session. This works for me. Jay's been very helpful and I am confident we are getting somewhere

Written by L.A. on Oct 16, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, and self esteem

Writing to Jay has been cathartic and his comments have been very helpful in fully identifying the disfunction and abusive relationships I find myself in. It is nice to have someone to share with and get validation for my feelings. He has been great and helps me look clearly at my choices.

Written by D.E. on Oct 09, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 2 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, self esteem, career difficulties, and bipolar disorder

I have never felt so confident in disclosing my personal information with somebody before. I have an extremely hard time doing this kind of stuff but Jay made it feel so natural doing so. It felt like I was just texting a friend about my day instead of disclosing private information to some stranger.

Written by L.I. on Sep 29, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, family conflicts, eating disorders, self esteem, and career difficulties

I like the way Jay engages with his client. He relates his experiences on a similar level and shares things about himself in a professional way. He is always reaching out and is quick to reply to a message left in his mailbox.

Even though this is counseling online Jay has made this approach a very safe and open but private setting. It is nice knowing I can chat whenever about concerns and challenges I am facing day to day or even struggles I have been dealing with for a while. The only negative is I wish I had more time to participate with trying to juggle work and my down time with filling it up with more time to focus on therapy. I would like to put more time into this therapy and would like to dedicate more of my down time to helping my mind and body heal and grow from my past so I can enjoy my present and future :)

Jay is the third, and best therapist I’ve ever had, he’s very clear with you but not hurtful with his bluntness, and he’s there to assure you when all seems to go aflame.

Written by D.E. on Sep 13, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 2 weeks

Jay helped me in a time of crossroads in my life. Years of higher education, mounting student loan debt, and lack of career opportunities had me a place of depression and feeling like giving up. Jay helped me narrow down what I really wanted and the pros and cons of what it would take to get there. He helped me put emotions aside and view my choices in a more logical way. I was recently offered a good job and have confidence in the choice to take it and where I have chosen to live. Jay is good at what he does and counseling through an online platform where there was communication everyday was so much easier and beneficial to me than in an office, one day a week. I can't thank him enough.

Written by R.I. on Jun 21, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related, sleeping, and self esteem

When I met Jay, I was stubborn to him. I felt like he wasn't worth trying to give a chance to but in a time of crisis, he was still able to lend me his guidance. I am forever grateful for giving clarity and peace to mind. He is the kind of man that will pull you out when you're drowning in cold water.

Written by T.O. on Jun 17, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, lgbt, relationship, family, trauma and abuse, sleeping, self esteem, career, and bipolar

Jay has given me more confidence. Because, in Australia; especially in Melbourne I have attempted therapy with numerous clinical psychologists. They have given me inadequate psycho-therapy by not engaging with me accordingly. I find it much more expense to attend psychology visits and BetterHelp is more affordable. I have felt instinctively that Jay cares and likes what he does in his role. So, I really appreciate it.

Written by D.O. on Jun 14, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 1 year and 4 months on issues concerning relationship, family, parenting, and anger

I have been really happy working with Jay. This is now my third time of coming back to Better Help to work with him. Each time he has helped me work through difficult periods, by helping me to find clarity on my thought process, trust in my judgement and the confidence to go ahead with difficult decisions. I am very grateful for his support.

Written by J.E. on May 18, 2018 after counseling with Jay for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship, family, trauma and abuse, grief, eating, parenting, self esteem, anger, and bipolar

Jay has been a blessing to me. It’s really nice being able to speak openly about my struggles and triumphs and he asks leading questions that get me to evaluate my situation in a way that helps me determine my next steps towards helping my family. I was reluctant at first about seeking counseling through the internet but have since recommended it to several friends. All in all a happy customer.

I have had the opportunity to work with Jay for the past month and a bit. He has been really helpful!

I was suffering from high anxiety and some depression. Jay was really helpful in providing solutions and helping to create goals to alleviate some of the stresses. He is very responsive, timely, and informative. What I really liked about Jay is he put the responsibility on me to make the changes, but supported you along the way. He won't do the work for you, but give you the tools to succeed.

I highly recommend his counseling if you are in the LGBTQ community, have relationship issues, concerns about work, living a better work-life balance, or just need someone to speak too.

Thanks Jay!

Since speaking with Jay, I do feel as though he has helped a great deal on shedding some light on why I feel the way I feel. I think there's still work to be done in getting my anxiety under control, and I look forward to working with him on this.

Jay has asked me questions which have caused me to think deeply about my relationship in a way that I wouldn't have without this counselling process. As a result I'm handling things differently and I have more confidence to carry out my actions within this relationship, rather than continually doubting whether what I am doing is right. This process has been incredibly helpful for me. Other issues in my life that I've been dealing with have been sidelined a bit in the counselling process though - I think Jay is right that the relationship issue is dominating things and needs my biggest focus.

Jay has been incredibly helpful. He's attentive, supportive, and truly wants to help. He's given me many things to work on, and has created a safe space for me to discuss my worries. The relief I feel when there's a new message from him is real. I'm so happy I sought a therapist on here.
