My name is Jennifer Bicknese, ATR-BC, LPC. I am a Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor. I am licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and have 5 years of counseling experience. I have worked in an outpatient facility with children, an outpatient facility with adolescents and adults, and a residential facility with individuals diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia. I have the most experience working with, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, sexual identity, LGBTQ community, life stressors, grief and loss, and anger management.
I utilize two different methods of counseling. The first one is the practice of Art Therapy. Art Therapy is a non-verbal way to express feelings and work on overcoming obstacles. If a client is open to trying Art Therapy, there are many techniques I can provide to help with life stressors. By providing a therapy using art supplies, such as, paint, colored pencils crayons, markers, clay, etc., a client can discover key themes in their artwork. Through learning about these key themes, a client can better discover their own way of finding personal solutions to their goals of therapy.
The second practice I utilize is a Person-Centered Approach. A Person-Centered Approach basically means I want to help a client find ways in which to overcome stressors through positive support and understanding. By using a Person-Centered Approach, I help to guide a client into reaching their own personal growth and change. I do this by assisting clients with what they feel needs to be worked through. I am here to listen and support, with no judgement present. It is my aim to empower and motivate clients through the therapy process.
I look forward to learning more about you and helping you achieve all the goals you have set forth. Thank you for looking at my profile and allowing me to help you achieve a happier and healthier life.

Sharing can be difficult especially with a stranger. Since the beginning, Jennifer has been extremely warm, kind and has followed my lead with our pace and direction. I’ve heard many stories from people about how their therapist wasn’t a good fit, so I feel grateful to have been matched with someone so wonderful! I love that she has a background of art therapy and am eager to explore those outlets!
You’ve been so wonderful!! I’m really appreciative that they paired me with you as a counselor as I feel your upbringing in terms of education and our age similarity really helps with being able to connect. ❤️❤️❤️
Jennifer has only been my counselor for a short time. She responds very quickly to messages. Very helpful.
Jennifer is fantastic, insightful & Creates a totally safe space for growth and development
She’s truly amazing and listens to what i am actually saying
I love Jennifer she is so kind, resourceful, and truly listens to what I’m saying and helps me find solutions. She has also been good at helping to hold me accountable for things I want to work on and change. Having access to her through messages and video calls has been such a major support in my life right now!
Jennifer has been an incredible support right now with everything I’m going through. I really appreciate all the attention and encouragement she’s given through messaging and our sessions. It feels amazing to have that support so thank you!
I've only done one session with her so far. She made me feel very comfortable and share all my feelings. I didnt feel dumb or embarrassed to share it with her. I felt like she is listening to my main concerns and coming up with ways to help me. I've been messaging her a lot and she responses back to me that same day. Gives me tools and idea's of what I can do to help myself.
This was my first time using a service like BetterHelp or speaking to a professional. As soon as we started speaking, Jennifer was very understanding and professional. She took the time to ask me questions and get to know me before we started video calls so we could jump right into it. It’s been two weeks and I am already feeling less anxious thanks to Jennifer!
Jennifer has been wonderful. I think she’s a great therapist. I do prefer in person sessions but given the times this is best. The worksheets are difficult to read/type on phone.
Jennifer is great at offering practical strategies for managing anxiety and depression. She's also very encouraging! She helped me develop an action plan for some family issues that I was having. Thank you Jennifer!
I think Jennifer has is on her "A" game. She sends helpful worksheets for those who want that little extra support and is always around to help ease my anxieties. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a very personable therapist. Not only does she help with CBT therapy, but her way of getting me to express my feelings through artwork has been something I have never been willing to try. It is amazing to see how well it always works!
I started using BetterHelp and I got matched with Jennifer Bicknese. She has helped me greatly in the short time I was here and needed the help. She gave me so many different forms of help. It all worked perfectly. I would highly recommend her to another person or friend.
In just a short amount of time, Jennifer has helped me immensely as I work to take control of my life and mental health. She makes me feel heard and offers me real tangible and applicable tools to help me in my efforts.
