As a mental health counselor, my commitments are to be your advocate, supporter, teacher, and encourager. Together, we will create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable to work. I began my career as a counselor well before I had a clue what professional counseling even was. As a public education teacher, I was drawn to the students in seeing so clearly their mental health needs and quickly knew I was meant to be a counselor, a helper and a kind supporter. It is a truth of mine that we are all in our own struggles; if only we could be there together in those struggles, we may be able to truly find our strengths more easily.
I focus on supporting the individual, as each is unique and may present an array of concerns. An individual will be able to enter into a therapeutic environment that is safe, free from judgment, and supportive. I strive to supply a space for each client that is empowering and motivating. I primarily work from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology. I specialize in working with adolescents, teens, adults, LGBTQ-affirmative and Transgender transitioning. I have specific experience working within trauma-focused, anxiety, mood disorders, depression, and oppositional defiant/conduct concerns.
I enjoy working with clients on issues of self-esteem building, anxiety reduction, coping skills, and relationship skills-building. I also have a very special place for all the new parents embarking on "baby-dom."
I received my M.Ed. in Counselor Education (Clinical Mental Health) from NC State University in 2013. I completed my undergraduate degree in Dance Performance and Choreography at the University of NC Greensboro in 2006. I have worked in various settings, including in-home Multi-Systemic Therapy with Youth Villages (Concord, NC), University of NC School of the Arts Counseling, and New Life Counseling Center, PLLC.
I am an avid reader (kind of a history and sci-fi dork...), mom of two fantastically wild kiddos and partner to a total Outer Space nerd. In my spare time, you can always catch me hosting impromptu dance parties with my family in the kitchen.
I am currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (formerly known as Licensed Professional Counselor) (NC) and National Board Certified Counselor.

Jennifer is non-judgmental in her approach, which creates the space for her to provide meaningful therapies. She is wonderful.
Jennifer is very understanding and knowledgeable! I enjoy my sessions every week and feel like I am making progress :)
I really can’t put into words what Jennifer has and still does for me. I didn’t think I could ever get my happiness, self confidence or self respect back. But Jennifer has helped me to realize I can. That I deserve to be happy, confident and to respect who I am. She’s helped me to see that it’s ok to not be ok. And Jennifer’s there whether I’m ok or not ok!! Thank you
I love Jennifer! She's been a source of strength and guidance for me for nearly a year. She helped me screw my head on right :)
I have been in therapy since February and Jen has been wonderful. She understands what I am going through and gives me techniques to use. She listens ans empathizes what I am going through. She has helped me over the last few months. She is great!
I started counseling with Jen in February and had a huge impact in a positive way and in a short period of time, honestly I’m happy to find the help I needed in Jen and have a better life. So happy with my counselor.
Jennifer is awesome. She understands mom and family life, provides me with personalized tools to use in my daily life and gets to the source of whatever it is that’s bothering me. She has helped me know myself better.
Jen has really helped me work through several concerns that I had, and has validated my feelings every step of the way. Not only has she done this, but she has also given me the tools to handle various situations will less stress and anxiety!
Jennifer is wonderful! She is insightful and very understanding.
Jennifer is a joy to work with - flexible, kind, caring, and compassionate. She's motivating, and always helps to reframe and affirm. I have so enjoyed working with her in these few weeks and I'm sure that I will continue to learn more from her in my mental health journey. My favorite thing about Jennifer is that she's so down-to-earth. I never feel judged, or like I'm talking to a Capital C Counselor. I feel like I'm talking to a kind, empathetic human who truly understands and is trying to help.
Jennifer is an excellent therapist. She is very compassionate and sensitive to my needs and is very actively involved in helping me deal with my grief in tangible ways, as well as talking and guiding me through the dark days. She is always kind and easy to talk to, and I am very happy I was connected with her.
Concise and effective.
She is just so amazing. She actually pays attention and listens to you.
I absolutely think the world of Jennifer...she has helped me so much....I really feel that she is awesome at her job and is a beautiful, caring, supportive person.
Jen is fantastic I so enjoy our sessions, she has helped me see and understand so many aspects of myself that I was unaware off. Amazing counselor, I’m so lucky and blessed to work with her.

Jen is great! Always available to support and validate me.
Jennifer has been fantastic to work with. She challenges me to keep digging deeper and always offers kind support and encouragement.
Jen has been a tremendous help. The best part is that she will check in on me. I will be overwhelmed with work and life, but she'll send a message to ask me how I'm doing and remind me to take time for me amidst the chaos. She also has a plethora of resources is always available to share.
Jennifer really listens to what I'm trying to say. She is very perceptive even though I have only been using voice to communicate so far. I'm thankful that I found such a good online counselor as I was apprehensive at first about BetterHelp.
Jennifer was attentive, compassionate and genuinely interested in my thoughts and feelings. I recommend her to anyone in need of support.
Jennifer is patient and kind. She responds very quickly and really takes time to understand and pinpoint your hurt.
Jennifer has been so helpful so far!! She is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. She makes understanding and working through issues that much easier.
Jennifer is very easy to talk to and has a variety of times that should work for everyone. My favorite thing that she does is follow up the next day to make sure we both had the same overview of the session. That was very helpful for me.
Jennifer is very kind, open and genuine. She was very understanding and supportive of me discovering my intuitive gifts. Thanks so much!
