About me

I am a Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in Virginia. I am also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) years of experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, addiction, OCD, and family problems. I’ve also guided people on how to reach goals, make important life decisions, and helped them achieve their goals for a greater purpose for their lives.
My counseling style is client-centered, collaborative, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe helping you process your emotions in a safe nonjudgmental environment, will allow you to feel more in control and safer before we get into heaver topics.
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, person centered. Each person is unique and so is your treatment. We will work together to formulate a treatment plan based on your needs. Some of the techniques I’ve used in the past are journaling, homework assignments, mindfulness practices, worksheets, and videos.
I look forward to getting to know you better and helping you to achieve your goals! My hours are Mon-Thurs 6am-1:30pm and Fri 6am-11am.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jessica Eddins. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Jessica is the epitome of an excellent and caring therapist; Jessica listens to me and challenges my narrow point of views of how to interact with my life obtacles. Most importantly, I love Jessica's authenticity as a therapist; you can tell her heart is in the right place; and she loves to help others - it is her divine purpose. I must say, she keeps it real i.e., she provides real life experiences that has resonated and helped me on so many levels in my life. I love it! Jessica was exactly what I needed to start my self healing and self care journey. Better Help matched me with the best certified therapist. My only regret, I didn't get on BetterHelp earlier so I could talk to her sooner. I feel so comfortable with her. I appreciate her very-very much. I am grateful.

I’m just very grateful. Aside from one other occasion on 2006, becoming a client of Jessica’s is the first time I have received mental health treatment on my own volition — all other times have been forced. To have come in contact with a therapist that I’m choosing to see who also happens to be very attentive, warm, understanding, and genuinely wants to help me is just a lot of good all in one, which is not something I am accustomed to, but I am still very grateful.

Jessica has been incredibly supportive, always taking the time to listen and work through things with me. She's open about sharing her own experiences and the ways she navigated difficult situations, which has been a huge help in guiding me. This also helps me feel more comfortable in sharing my struggles with her.

Jessica Eddins has been my hype man and my reality check from day one. I am incredibly grateful to have found a therapist who both supports me and encourages me to grow. She is ready to laugh with you and sit with you in the dark if you need it. From my days where I have the growth and good news to share to the days I can’t get out of bed, she has cheered me on every step of the way. I could not be more thankful.
