About Me

Hello! I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas and received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. I have over 10 years of experience in counseling with regards to individuals, couples, or groups. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults through the years. My Treatment approaches include that of Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Therapy. I feel that it is important to be genuine, transparent, and respectful when it comes to working with people. Also, I feel that "starting where the client is at" is conducive to a helping relationship. It is difficult to reach out for professional help when you are going through some hard times, but with your courage and determination, we can go through this journey together.

Written by L.Y. on Dec 01, 2021 after therapy with Joby for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, parenting issues, self esteem, anger management, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and adhd

I have only worked with Joby once so far, but right off the bat she helped me dissect some of my biggest issues and gave me strategies (that work) to overcome my obstacles. She is kind, to the point, and solution-oriented. Another thing that I’d like to highlight is that Joby reached out to me during a week we have apart and asked me how I was doing. That kind of service and support is something that I personally have great value and appreciation for. 10/10
