As a Licensed Professional counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I have over 35 years experience. I have worked with all age groups across many dimensions, including outpatient, inpatient, residential, and emergency hospital settings. Areas I have worked with include, but are not limited to are depression, anxiety, relationship issues, communication issues, addictions, dependency and anger management. I generally take a cognitive behavioral approach, but do not limit my approach, but tailor my treatment to the individual client needs. I am generally laid back and very accepting in nature, but I also will be direct when I feel it is needed. I also like to instill some humor in therapy, but only when appropriate and not at the clients expense. It takes courage to reach out to someone for help, and I will support you in your endeavor. I believe therapy is about change, and it will take motivation and action on the client's part to make that change. But I will be there to support you in the process.

I’ve had a great time working with John. He’s opened my eyes to things and guided me to solutions.
I really value John's counsel and perspectives. Our interactions allow me to release a lot of non-productive thoughts and emotions and move through them, always to a place of positivity and greater potential!
John is excellent at making others feel heard by trying to relate to what they may be experiencing. He pulls a lot from his own experiences in a way that creates a sense of trust and honesty, making his input feel all the more valuable.
Smart guy. Personable. Good effort. Helpful
John was extremely helpful with my needs when I spoke to him. He is extremely understanding, easy to talk too, and has a great balance of listening to me/ offering some insight. I was extremely scared of using a male counselor but John has made me extremely happy that I gave it a chance. It’s nice to hear a males perspective on some of issues. I hadnt followed up with him like I said I would and he reached out just to check on me which meant a lot to me. I highly recommend John!
John is awesome. He’s a good listener and interjects when needed and recommends things based on our conversations. I have already told one of my friend about him and I’m looking forward to lore sessions with him.
John has been very helpful thus far.
I started therapy with John in one of the most difficult moments of my life. At my lowest, John pulled me back up with his patience, kindness and wise advice. I can’t even picture what my life would have looked like have I not met him. John counseled me through a tough breakup, family issues, setting boundaries, self esteem issues, crippling paranoia and anxiety, friendship issues, dealing with events from my past and addressing questions regarding my faith that I’ve been too afraid to ask. John is very responsive, and always there to provide advice. I find him to be an excellent listener, a person who does not judge people but takes them as they are and tries to help them mend themselves. I find John to be very intelligent, well-read and a person who can see beyond cultural differences. He is a superb life-coach, and a very supportive person all around. After working with him for 6 months, I see changes in my life I never thought possible. I find myself having more moments of gratefulness and heart-warming laughs, I am getting so much better at saying “no” whenever I feel my limits being pushed, and I’m surprised at how I learned to enjoy my own company and like the things I do. I wholeheartedly believe John has been a blessing in my life. I would recommend him to anyone who needs guidance in their life. As I learned from John, things can get better, no matter how impossible it seems and it is in our power to make them so.
John is a great listener and engages well across all tools available via the application. He’s responsive to email and text messages and makes the most of any face to face/zoom type sessions. I found his techniques very helpful in working through family issues. Highly recommend John as a counselor. Demonstrates keen insight and empathy.
If you are serious about counseling, especially in these unconventional times, I'd highly recommend Mr. Moore and Better Health.
John has helped me immensely. He listens to what I'm saying, asks questions to dig deeper, and responds in a constructive way. I would recommend John to any of my friends and family!
John was very easy to talk to and super helpful with resources and advice.
