Hello!) My name is Joselin Herrera. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey and New York. I earned my Bachelor in Psychology at Stony Brook University and my Master of Social Work at Hunter College. I was a psychotherapist at an outpatient mental health clinic in NY working on issues such as depression, anxiety, parenting and family struggles, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, as well as life changes. I worked with diverse population in regards to ethnicity/cultures, sexual orientation, disabilities, and socio-economic status.
I believe in a strengths-based approach utilizing cognitive behavioral and solution focused techniques. You can identify your strength during this reading as you have already made a brave decision to seek help. It's imperative that a trusting therapeutic relationship is built so you feel confident to express yourself in a safe and supportive environment. I believe our work is based on a team approach where we work together to achieve your desired goals. Once we identify your desired goals I can provide tools to help you achieve those goals.
I look forward to working with you.

Joselin is a great counselor. She makes me feel heard and understood.
She is very helpful, and a great problem solver.
Extremely professional and helpful!
Joselin is incredible. Absolutely fantastic. I had never been in therapy before starting here and I could not have picked a better counselor. She's attentive, responsive, and seamlessly goes from listening to you to synthesizing what you said and providing both context and solutions. What I like most is that she helps define how I'm feeling. I explain how I'm feeling or the negative thoughts and have it's like she's in my head with how accurate her assessment is. She's great. My mental health is improving. My relationship is improving. Wonderful!
She is absolutely wonderful. This is my first time in therapy and I didn’t believe it would be this easy or make me feel this much better but she has made it very easy to open up to her. She lays out what I need to do to keep getting better. I read a self help book and talked about it and she went out of her way to get her hands on the book and read it. I can’t say enough about her and it’s only been 2 sessions.
I really appreciate Joselin's structure to our sessions. She manages to hone in on the issue at hand and shapes it into something we can look at and discuss. There have been productive and thoughtful sessions that challenge me to grow. She helps me recognize that growth is sometimes a little painful but worth it to change our own perspective.
