About Me

Pastoral Counselor with more than 30 years of experience. I have worked with survivors of disasters or crises, people who have experienced a humanitarian crisis, or who are survivors of migration-related trauma. I have also worked with disaster workers experiencing compassion fatigue and/or veterans experiencing adjustment issues. I consider it important to walk with people who seek accompaniment and a compassionate ear after a traumatic experience, as well as those people who because of their age feel overwhelmed and without desire to move forward, as well as those who have suffered loss and hope.

Dr. Prewitt-Diaz proved to be extremely helpful immediately upon beginning my sessions with him. I felt like he understood my needs and focus very quickly, and has been great at managing our time together to make sure I get the most out of it.

He has encouraged me greatly, and helps me to see the value in myself—an area that I have struggled with. He also recognizes that I have goals and is consistent in considering these goals and helping me move towards them each week.

I would recommend Dr. Prewitt-Diaz to anyone that is seeking personal growth in these difficult times. Life is hard and can be overwhelming for each of us—no matter how different our experiences may be. I would encourage anyone to take action in seeking help, regardless of where they’re at in their life’s journey. There is always room to grow, and it’s never too late to master one’s circumstances through mindfulness and self-care.
