About me

I have been providing counseling for about 25 years. I worked my first 10 years with the elderly population. For the past 15 years I have worked with all age ranges in a variety of areas. I meet my clients where they are, using Client Centered focus, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (cause & effect) of behaviors. I also use EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) to assist with trauma. My clients are a critical part of my treatment plan development as my desire is to assist in their success - effectively working myself out of their lives. They learn the coping skills rather than dependence on a person to go from one crisis to the next.

I’ve been seeing Joyce for around 6 months or so now on a weekly basis. She has helped me navigate being a mom, wife, nurse, daughter, and friend. She’s helped me as I deal with issues related to co-parenting, PTSD, anxiety, depression, being a child of an alcoholic, and caregiver fatigue. I struggle to call her Joyce because I want to call her Joy; getting to talk to her weekly is a welcomed brightness. She truly hears what you have to say and isn’t afraid to challenge your thoughts and views. I have been able to get through some of the hardest struggles I’ve had in ages because of Joyce.
