About me
Hi, I'm Juan Carlos. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation — not a clinical evaluation.
I work with adults and older teens navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-doubt, and the quiet question of "is this really the life I want?" My approach blends CBT (for the practical tools), ACT (for working with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings), and existential therapy (for the bigger questions — meaning, purpose, identity, and the life you actually want to be living).
What that looks like in practice: we'll work on the patterns that are keeping you stuck — the overthinking, the avoidance, the harsh inner critic — while also figuring out what actually matters to you and how to move toward it. You'll leave each session with something to carry into your week, not just insight.
I'm warm, direct, and free of clinical jargon. I show up as a real person, and I'll meet you wherever you are. Whether you've done therapy before or this is your first time, you don't need to have it all figured out — most people don't. That's the whole point of starting.
Outside the therapy room, I'm the author of The Adventures of Kevin & Friends, a children's mental health book series, and the creator of @_psychlife_ on Instagram, where I make psychology accessible for everyone.
Everything I do comes back to one mission: making mental health real, relatable, and within reach.
You're not broken — you're becoming. And you don't have to figure it out alone.
