Hello. My name is Judy Thompson. I have been a licensed marriage and family therapist for 5 years. I have experience working with individuals in need of parenting support, personal support, and those experiencing on-going negative impacts of childhood trauma from loss, physical, and sexual abuse.
My communication style is supportive and educational.
My approaches include, Cognitive Behavioral (good for improving self-esteem), Family Systems(good understanding relationship dynamics, Motivational Interviewing (good for facing persistent negative choices), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (good for managing symptoms of trauma such as re-exeperecing, anxiety, and avoidance).
I love the process of therapy because it provides an opportunity to learn how to take more responsibility for one's life and become a content and functional adult--all of which leads to contentment and peace!
