My name is Julie and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Missouri and I’d love to partner with you to feel well and be well! Let's nourish your soul and find healing with the practices I’ve implemented from the wealth of wisdom I’ve gleaned from decades of challenges related to health, relationships, and loss. From the unexpected loss of numerous loved ones, the end of intimate relationships, unmet expectations and chronic illness we can go from misery to mastery, bitter to better, and find some nuggets of joy in the journey. It's not easy but YOU are worth investing in! It takes time but let’s find peace, balance and contentment *in the midst of* crazy times. Life can really be tough and there's not a lot of easy answers to many challenges. While I find DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), mindfulness and faith in general to be very useful for many people I'm honored to help find the best approach for YOU in coping with life's curveballs, managing long seasons of hardship, and finding hope in the most difficult issues we may face. Particular interests of mine include travel, nutrition, movement, parenting struggling children, caregiving, social and environmental justice, race relations and finding the aspects of faith that are helpful while discerning what doesn't serve you well.
Additional areas of focus:Addictions, LGBT, Trauma and abuse, Intimacy-related issues, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, ADHD, Abandonment, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Attachment Issues, Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Blended Family Issues, Body Image, Caregiver Issues and Stress, Chronic Pain Illness and Disability, Communication Problems, Control Issues, Coping with Natural or Human-Caused Disaster, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), Dissociation, Divorce and Separation, Eating and Food-Related Issues, Emptiness, Family of Origin Issues, Family Problems, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Isolation / Loneliness, Life Purpose, Midlife Crisis, Money and Financial Issues, Mood Disorders, Multicultural Concerns, Obsessions, Compulsions, and OCD, Postpartum Depression, Prejudice and Discrimination, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Self-Harm, Self-Love, Sexuality, Somatization, Women's Issues, Workplace Issues

Over the first two weeks Julie really helped me primarily through texting and responding to my messages. And we had our first phone call and it was really incredible to be able to relate to someone who knew exactly what I was dealing with and helps me focus on the things that I need to really focus on. At the end she spoke some words to me that I will forever be grateful for and she knows what I’m talking about, and because of that I will definitely be reaching out to her whenever I need anything going forward. I am thankful for Julie!

I’ve been too busy to engage much the last week, but Julie has been wonderful! She is very thoughtful and insightful in her responses, and has already given me a couple insights I hadn’t considered before. She responds very quickly. Even though I haven’t been consistent in logging on, she sends a message wishing me a good weekend, etc. to check in. I will be applying myself a little more now! Julie is warm, kind, and I already feel very comfortable with her.
