About me

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Idaho with 15 years of experience working with clients who present a wide range of issues. Client issues that I work with are depression, anxiety, sexual, physical and emotional abuse. I also have worked with and helped clients struggling with relationship, parenting issues. I love working with adolescents and bring a laid back, warm and accepting attitude to each session.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in unconditional positive regard and treating anyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. I don't believe in labels and will not project any stigmatization regardless of the issue.

My approach combines cognitive/dialectical behavior therapy as well as person centered modalities. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plans to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage and resilience to seek a happier and more fulfilling life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take those steps I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Karen Canfield. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Karen is really attentive to all my needs and really listens to what I have to say. If I'm not comfortable speaking about something she doesn't push me to talk about it, she knows when I'm ready I will speak about it. She is totally awesome and I would recommend her to anyone who needs someone who will listed and give feedback for you to think about. The information she provides to help understand what you may be going through really has helped me understand my situations and why I may do the things I do. She is awesome!
