I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor and I can also offer hypnotherapy privately. My website is milestonetherapies.co.uk. I am based in South West England, just inside Devon, on the border of Cornwall.
My background is in Psychology. I have a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Liverpool, and an MSc. in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE). Previous roles prior to undertaking professional training as a psychotherapist include being a research psychologist at LSE. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, overseeing and supporting the work of fellow therapists.
My specialist areas include anxiety (I am an affiliate for Anxiety UK) as well as bereavement (I have worked for Cruse as a support worker and also as a supervisor). In addition, I specialise in confidence and self-esteem issues, which was the subject of my Masters dissertation.
We all feel a little lost at times. Maybe you have had to face changes or challenges that you are finding difficult to deal with. Maybe you need to talk things through with someone impartial like me, who will hold your issues in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space. Perhaps you need guidance and help in achieving your goals, whatever they may be. Remember that you are not alone. I am here to help you find your way and to live your best life. I have a breadth of training which means I can work in a pluralistic way, using my skills to incorporate whichever techniques will serve you best at any particular time in your counselling journey.

Kate is an excellent therapist. She listens well, is structured, and has really helped me feel more stable. The only things I sometimes wish more of is an emotional connection or understanding (with the professionalism it feels like she's keeping the emotions low) and sometimes less of giving recommendations. Even with that though, I would recommend her. She knows what she's doing.

I am not doing therapy for long with her (3 sessions so far), but from the first moment on I knew she is “the one”. I felt confident talking about my issues and she offered me such a lovely safe space to share them. She is very empathetic and I feel that she supports me a lot. When writing her messages, Kate is always responding very fast. There is no time of the week where I feel neglected by her expertise. Also, during the sessions, no matter what type, Kate keeps the conversation perfectly in balance. I can talk long about my experiences and she knows when to hop in, ask questions and maybe redirect me.

I've seen a lot of therapists over the years (not just on Better Help), and Kate is one of my favourites. I really looked forward to our weekly sessions. I felt that she had a good sense of when to listen and support me, and when to step in with questions and advice, and I always left the sessions feeling a bit better than when I'd gone in. I'm taking a break from Better Help, but when I come back, I hope to work with Kate again. I can definitely recommend her!
