About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor and I can also offer hypnotherapy privately. My website is milestonetherapies.co.uk. I am based in South West England, just inside Devon, on the border of Cornwall.

My background is in Psychology. I have a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Liverpool, and an MSc. in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE). Previous roles prior to undertaking professional training as a psychotherapist include being a research psychologist at LSE. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, overseeing and supporting the work of fellow therapists.

My specialist areas include anxiety (I am an affiliate for Anxiety UK) as well as bereavement (I have worked for Cruse as a support worker and also as a supervisor). In addition, I specialise in confidence and self-esteem issues, which was the subject of my Masters dissertation.

We all feel a little lost at times. Maybe you have had to face changes or challenges that you are finding difficult to deal with. Maybe you need to talk things through with someone impartial like me, who will hold your issues in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space. Perhaps you need guidance and help in achieving your goals, whatever they may be. Remember that you are not alone. I am here to help you find your way and to live your best life. My style is warm and open.

I have a breadth of training which means I can work in a pluralistic way, using my skills to incorporate whichever techniques will serve you best at any particular time in your counselling journey.

Taking the first step is always the most difficult but please reach out to me and remember that your peace and happiness are worth investing your time in.

Kate is an excellent therapist. She’s an amazing listener, she’s so validating, and she’s been so helpful in supporting me to unpack my trauma, believe in myself more, and feel my feelings. I would highly recommend Kate to anyone who feels they’ve been through a lot and need to talk it through with someone who can help you to recognise the impact that experience has had on you and work through it. She made me feel comfortable really quickly, and based on what I’ve achieved in our sessions so far, I feel really hopeful about the overall progress I can make with her. Thank you for making such a difference Kate

I’ve been so pleased having Kate as my therapist and all of the support she has given me as I work through my past, present and future. She has lovely energy and seems to be very intelligent. I wouldn’t want anyone else as a therapist and I’m grateful that BetterHelp matched us. She seems well-rounded in her understanding of mental health, relationships, personal balance, the way our lives shape us and how we can grow as people. I feel much more empowered in myself after our sessions and I look forward to who I will become in the future as we continue. It is such a beautiful feeling to have someone with whom I can share my thoughts and feelings in a manner that is totally open as she is a third-party and is there to help me. I absolutely recommend her.
