I am a licensed professional clinical counselor licensed in Minnesota with over 10 years experience working in the mental health field in a variety of different positions, with the last 3 years being licensed to do therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use disorders, relationship issues, trauma related concerns, grief and loss issues, and stress management.
My counseling approach to helping clients is to work with them where they are currently at in order to work on bettering their lives through learning new coping skills and understanding why they have been struggling with their issues. My approach focuses on developing a therapeutic alliance by using client-centered approach as well as using cognitive behavioral techniques to assist individuals to overcome the obstacles they are currently experiencing in their life so they can move forward and have the life that they have always wanted.
It is possible to develop more effective coping skills no matter where you are in life. Everyone struggles from time to time due to different causes. I am ready and prepared to work with you in order to help you achieve the life you want.

Katie is wonderful! She made me feel so safe and comfortable. This was my first therapy experience and I truly believe it has helped me immensely. I was so upset to stop my sessions due to financial issues but, when I get a chance to start again, I would choose to be paired with Katie. She got me to open up more about my past traumas and helped me work through difficult tasks. She was very patient and made me feel like what I said mattered and that I mattered.
