Hi, I am a licensed independent clinical social worker.
I enjoy working with individuals and couples: helping people communicate; working with elders and their families; and counseling people who have been hurt.
I have trained in family systems theory and attended two workshops led by the late family therapist Virginia Satir. I completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My wife and I have taught John Gottman’s book, the Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. I use visualization, role playing, split chair, and conflict resolution.
I have a special place in my heart for elders’ who battle depression, loneliness, ill health, and lack of knowledge & resources. I completed Geriatric Mental Health Specialist training and have provided mental health outreach to the elderly.
A third group close to my heart are those struggling with forgiveness.
Work experiences include child welfare, counseling teenagers in residential treatment, working as a supervisor then family counselor in corrections (women’s treatment center), counseling in a Christian-based private practice, mental health outreach for the elderly, medical social work including ER support, dialysis social work; and, in retirement couples’ classes and counseling.

I strongly recommend BetterHelp
Kenneth is an absolute joy to work with. I was so hesitant to try talk therapy again, and this has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. He’s kind, experienced, insightful, and it’s so clear that has a passion for what he does. I’ve seen myself grow stronger each week, and much of that credit goes to Kenneth.
Kenneth has been great. Active listener, compassionate, accessible, supportive. I appreciate his approach and look forward to continuing to work with him.
