Welcome to the Better Help Community. Thank you for trusting us to help you. My name is Kristin Scott-Groves and I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, South Carolina, and Virginia. I have worked as a clinical therapist and college professor, teaching psychology of lifespan development. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Social Work degree. I have worked with different populations including military members and their families, as well as children, adolescents, and teenagers. My experience includes working with individuals with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, parenting, and adjustment to change.
My approach to therapy is client centered. You are the expert on your life and you determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I help guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can help clients find the unhelpful and unhealthy thought patterns as well as learn healthier ways of thinking.
I applaud you for taking the first step in better health. I know that starting something new can be scary. If you are ready to take the next step in making healthy changes in your life, I will work with you on your path to success.

Kristin has helped me work through some of the barriers in my life, and she continues to guide me through each situation. One of her best qualities is her ability to help me understand what I’m saying and thinking so that I can get myself on balanced ground!
Really appreciate Kristin and look forward to continue to work with her.
Thank you for helping me navigate through this long journey in my life. Our sessions have provided me with a different understanding of the complexity of human interactions with one another, and the goals of what I should achieve both in the long and short terms. I appreciate your kindness and the approach you have taken to guide me in finding myself and my family. Thank you!
She is incredible. I would recommend her to anyone!
Kristin has been a great start for my recovery. She is great at listening and responding. She led me to overcome some challenges I never knew existed in me
I’ve been with Kristen for a while now and she’s helped tremendously in my life . She listens and targets the issues promptly and accurately . I definitely recommend her
I absolutely love Kristin! She has been so helpful. I could not have been matched with a better counselor and so appreciate her expertise.
I'm finally feeling heard and accepted for who I am. Kristen listens to my concerns without judgement and offers tools and exercises I can implement to help me navigate my issues outside of our sessions.
Kristin is a great counselor. I really like how she repeats back what I’m saying at times to know that we’re on the same page. She is also very encouraging.
When I first spoke to a counselor at Betterhelp, I was skeptical because she didn't seem like she knew the information she should know in order to help me get over my hurdles.
Then I transferred to Kristin and in just one session, she made me feel 10x more confident in my ability to handle stress and anxiety. She is kind, patient, understanding, a good listener, and addresses my concerns and needs in a professional, timely, and empathetic manner. She truly is a blessing.
Kristin Scott-Groves is helping me to reconnect with myself in a way I would have never felt possible after many years in a toxic relationship. Her thoughtful comments and questions have really challenged me, and her suggestions for dealing with my anxiety have been simple and easy to incorporate into my daily life. I'm starting to feel more joyful and in charge of my own feelings again!
