LaShica Hemingway, LCMHC
About me
Hi, I'm LaShica and I'm very excited that you are reaching out to take time for yourself. Counseling is a great form of personal care.
I would like to tell you a little about myself. I currently live in Charlotte, NC but I'm originally from Marion, SC. I am married with 2 kids. I love lifting weights, playing softball, and running. I have over 10 years of experience in counseling adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse problems. I have experience working with young adults in transitional housing providing therapeutic individual and group counseling. I have worked with families providing individual and family counseling in the clinical and home setting.
My approach to therapy comes from an eclectic base with a strong focus on cognitive-behavioral and person centered therapy. I believe that a person should be able to make choices about their future and should be given all available resources to make that informed choice.
I look forward to working with you in the future.

Reviews

Meeting LaShica has been a true blessing in my life. She's a very skilled therapist, very smart and truly wise, she's also funny in the best ways that make our sessions even more enjoyable and help me see beyond my thoughts and feelings. Interacting with LaShica makes me feel deeply understood and truly supported, it's such a precious human connection for which I'm deeply grateful. Even though I'm an open book to meeting new people, I have never met a person who is capable to cope with me and guide me through life in a wise, healthy way, with infinite patience and true kindness as LaShica has been succeeding to do in the moments when I struggled the most and lost myself in my sorrows and fears. It is a true blessing to have LaShica in my life and I'm wholeheartedly grateful for her presence. The world would be a better place to live in for all of us if more humans would be like LaShica -- it seriously would be a much better place for everyone on Earth.
