Laura Boettger, LMHC
About me
I am licensed in Florida with over 10 years of professional work experience.
I specialize in supporting individuals who have been involved in cults or other high-control groups or relationships. My therapeutic approach provides a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore the complex emotions and questions surrounding your experience, and healing for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or complex PTSD. Whether you're in the midst of leaving a high-control environment, processing past involvement, or questioning your current situation, I’m here to be your ally.
I am trained in EMDR and I have a variety of therapeutic techniques, from non-directive all the way to highly structured.
I also provide support to people as they navigate the transitional phases in their lives. Life is full of change, and change is hard! Big or small, the transitional periods in our lives can leave us feeling lost and adrift. Uncertainty looms large. You might feel unsure of where you want to go, let alone how to get there. You might feel like you don’t even know who you are anymore.
It’s a lonely place to be, especially when everyone around you seems to think the change should be exciting, positive, or fun. How do you tell them you’re feeling scared or uncertain going into it, or that the experience isn’t what you thought it would be?
I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. I'm experienced in supporting adults of any age to address depression, anxiety, trauma, and trauma-related issues like dissociation. Together, we can sort through your situation and create a pathway through the uncertainty and toward the life you want.
Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
