I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. I have over seven years of experience working with substance use, mental health, and dual-diagnosis/co-occurring populations. I have worked in community agencies as well as hospital-based programs, and I have experience in several levels of care such as inpatient, outpatient, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP/APH), and Medication Assisted Treatment (Methadone, Vivitrol, Suboxone). I also have experience working with trauma in addition to severe and persistent mental illness (Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder, Personality Disorders) and coordinating crisis intervention with this population.
My counseling style is warm, non-judgmental, and person-centered. I believe you are the expert on you, and as your counselor I am here to assist you in achieving the goals you wish to accomplish in therapy. Together we will collaborate to form a treatment plan, measurable and achievable goals, assessing your progress and adjusting accordingly as necessary.
One of the most significant reasons I entered this profession, is that I am a firm believe that "a little compassion goes a long way". It only takes one person to help you see the light when you feel trapped in the darkness. I also believe in the importance of empowerment in order to rebuild self esteem, self worth, and self efficacy - and I am looking forward to working with you!

I feel secure with her, she's kind and gentle but she doesn't shy away from the heavy stuff. I've made several breakthroughs and that's because she's understanding, patient and safe and can help me get there. She's been able to make me trust her and that just does not happen. She's good.

Laura is amazing and always so sweet. She is patient with technical difficulties and helps with any issue I bring to our sessions. I love that she provides me with resources and that she pushes me to lead the discussion on how to better myself and is always there with a suggestion when I hit a wall.

I can't recommend Laura enough! She is an amazing active listener with incredible insight. She supports you to come to your own conclusions and solutions without making you feel like you're being told what to do. She has incredible resources for further reading/activities that are applicable to each session. I'd I decide to return to BetterHelp, there's no one I'd rather work with!

Laura and I have only had 1 session, yet I am positive she is the therapist for me. Laurs is Kind, empathetic , beautiful, light hearted , caring, open minded , and non judgmental. She listens with empathetic and understanding ears. Completely judgement free, light hearted, yet very grounded and helpful so quickly. I love that in-between sessions I get useful content that will help me build while not in session. This is something I very much appreciate. All in all I would absolutely reccomend Laura to any friend ! Thank you Laura for being such a great human in this world :)
