About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Linda Bell, lindagbell.com. I am a family psychologist. For 30 years I trained students in individual, couple, and family therapy. I am a licensed psychologist in Ohio. I have researched families and have worked with clients around a wide range of concerns -- including anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, mid-life challenges, and adult child-elder parent relationships. I have also been able to help people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I've written two books based on my research: "Love and Respect in Families: from Generation to Generation" and "Lifelong Marriage in the Greatest Generation."
I received my undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in Psychology and my Masters in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin. With my husband I served in the Peace Corps in Africa and then completed my Ph.D. at Duke University. After completing an internship in clinical psychology, I completed an additional two years of training in couple and family therapy at the Family Institute at Northwestern University in Chicago. I’ve also taught and practiced family therapy in Japan.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I treat people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My therapy is solution focused. My work encompasses cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and family systems therapies. I will tailor our work together to meet your specific needs and goals.
It can be difficult to reach out and seek help. I applaud the courage it took for you to do so! I am here to help and support you.
I look forward to getting to know you and helping you reach your goals.

She’s a very kind and warm individual, who has not only helped guide me in a better direction mentally/emotionally, she’s also been very patient with listening to what has troubled my mind as well as helped me understand why I feel the way I do. It’s been a life changing experience and I’m grateful for her help.

Linda is thoughtful and easy to talk to. I was very nervous because I had never been to a therapist before, but my fears quickly dissolved after talking with Linda. She has made my experience one I look forward to.
She’s amazing!
Dr. Bell has been incredibly helpful to me. She understands my concerns and has developed a clear path for me to make small, manageable adjustments to facilitate long term solutions to improve my mental health. I love the convenience of working through the betterhelp platform.
Dr. Bell is the best therapist I have seen in my adult life. I felt immediately that she genuinely cares for me as a client. I have been able to really open up to her about past trauma, how to make positive changes for myself, and to then apply those changes into transforming my life. Dr. Bell is warm and welcoming and I really cannot recommend her enough. I'm glad to have been matched with her and plan to work with her regularly until I no longer am in need of therapy.
