About me
Linda Young is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who resides in the state of Maryland and has years of experience providing psychosocial assessments and treatments to children, adolescents, within various treatment facilities, and has experience as a mobile crises clinician assessing clients for safety to themselves and others within their homes, schools and residential treatment faculties. She initially began her career in Boston, Massachusetts where she provided mental health services to clients for approximately seventeen years. Shortly after arriving in Maryland in 2013, she continued her work with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of emotional and behavioral difficulties including drug and alcohol addiction. More recently, for the last 5 years, Linda has concentrated her focus on providing therapy to adults within a substance abuse treatment program who were seeking help and support to manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic disorder, social phobia, trauma, grief and loss, life’s transitions, adjustments to chronic medical illness, and clients with a combination of mental health and substance abuse issues.
She received her Master of Social Work degree at the Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work located in Boston, Massachusetts and her Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies and Graphic Design at the Simmons College undergraduate school. Linda takes a collaborative approach to treatment incorporating psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and inner child work. She also believes in the value of educating clients regarding their specific challenges and concerns. Linda provides a very warm, welcoming, and caring approach to clients. From the moment a client enters treatment, her initial goal is to establish a relationship that fosters the development of therapeutic strategies and treatment plan that builds upon the strengths of her clients.

Linda is a great therapist, I have never felt so heard by anyone. She made me realized of how trauma affected me everyday and gave me tools to cope. I am still working on myself but I feel hopeful about the future which I didn’t before. I can’t thank her enough.

Linda is wondering and has been a blessing to have her to talk to all of these months. I feel like she really hears me and speaks with me honestly.

I've had a hard time connecting with therapists in the past, but I immediately felt comfortable with Linda. Rather than spending the whole first session introducing myself and my situation, she came into it having already read my profile. She listened to what MY goals were for therapy and lead the session with that. Linda is personable, realistic, and thought-provoking in the best way! 10/10
