Linda Smiley, LPCC
About me
Hello, Welcome!
My name is Linda Smiley and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Before, I went back to college to get my Masters Degree. I had 10 years of experience as a Case Manager for clients that had a severe mental illness. I decided that I wanted to do more, so I went back to school in order to get my Master's Degree as a mental health therapist. I graduated from Lindsey Wilson in 2013 and for the past seven years I have been working with clients that are dealing with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and psychosis. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma and/ or emotional abuse as well as traumatic concerns that have increased due to the pandemic. My goal is to be here to assist you in processing your feelings in a safe, judgment free environment.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is primarily person centered but I also utilize motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution focused interventions and CBT and CBTp . I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I realize it is difficult to reach out in order to talk to a complete stranger about your deepest darkest secrets, feelings, and concern. It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone but if you are reading this then you are taking your first step to having a more fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. You are in the driver seat of your treatment. I am the passenger in this journey.
I look forward to working with you!

Linda is an amazing therapist but much more than that... she's truly a blessing. She listens, provides a space for me to be authentic and raw, without any judgement and reminds me that in spite of how I may be feeling it's temporary. She reminds me that I need to extend the love and grace that I give to so many others and put it into myself. My mindset has changed since working with Linda and that's a testament to her amazing ability to meet people where they are and help guide them to a better version of themself.
