About me

I am a licensed therapist in Missouri with over 6 years of professional work experience. I also have an extensive background in the field of corrections. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including addictions, trauma and abuse, lack of motivation self-esteem and confidence issues, anxiety and depression. I also focus on gender specific/sensitive issues. I take a warm, empathetic, and compassionate, respectful and interactive approach to therapy. My therapy approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and trauma focused approaches. I tailor sessions to meet the individual needs of the client. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I encourage and invite those with whom I work to enter therapy with an open mind and curiosity to learn about oneself. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lisa Travis-Johnson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I had my first session with Mrs. Lisa last week and I couldn't wait to book my next one. She read the information I sent previous to our visit, and was prepared to work. She won't give you the answer but help guide you and provides worksheets/exercises along the way to discuss at other visits. I felt comfortable speaking with her and would definitely recommend her to others.
